5G disrupts in 3 areas :
- 5G has a data rate of 1 Gbps which is 5 times faster than 4G.
- 5G has a latency, or response time, of 1 millisecond, which is 100 times less than 4G.
- Finally, 5G can connect 10 times more devices than 4G.
With 4G, our devices used to connect with antennas that transmitted a signal over a coverage area. Now, 5G antennas emit radio frequency beams directly to the devices. The signal energy is 10 times more powerful than the 4G and targets devices precisely, unlike the 4G coverage area.
In 1980, 1G enabled wireless voice transmission.
In 1990, 2G allowed SMS texting.
In 2000, 3G enabled the development of the mobile Web, then 4G allowed to increase the speed of these mobile connections.
Today, 5G is the result of decades of innovation and is poised to change the way we interact with our environment and connect with those around us.
